Jen, a person see the world through the eyes of their culture and because in our culture our race itself is depenant on the female for its head of household. In our culture the older the female the more honored she is shown because we are an oral culture and the elders rate honer and respect and not a nursing home...As a mother role is the role of socialization of her children to take over the dutys of seeing that the nest generation is much better off than theirs...then listen to the wisdom of your elders success and failuars is just what you want to do...learn how to make more up hill (as in advantages, and joy and security and less pain that youhad)for the next generation than the steep hill you your own self had to climb...
Jen, this is not just for you it is for every person in our race...is is the pride and power we brought with us from Africa and if we loose these powers then we willnot survive nomater what label is put on our people in its efforts to convince us tis is not needed...all we have to do is do as we are told about who and what we are and things woll be better...
