The Koran". I got the impression that the difference practices of the Muslims is on how the Koran determines how a society believe the female should be treated?!? example, Is the female to be segaraged on public buses from the men. If she is to not be seen (with/ without the complete dressing in public)or even heard unless given permission first by the male.If she can be treated as an equal in rights / privileges as the males are. I also believe that I heard a word used a lot by robert when he says this word (I will look it up later), but the people who uses this word seem to have acceptance of many different peoples and their rights to freedoms of religions... What "I" am trying to get to I guess is am I right or wrong about the separations of the Muslim's official organizational beliefs is dependant on how one views the rights of the females rather then an out and out ,different out look on the religions basics it self?!?

As for the REALITY and SCHOLARSHIP of 1431 years; AlIslaam, DEFINED by AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as)------a WAY OF LIFE presented to MEN AND WOMEN the world over and accepted by 2 BILLION men and women, Today, of different physical and geographical characteristics:
AlQur'aan is the Study of the Human Being--male and female--and Believers of AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as) Believe that the Male AND Female make the Human Being. They are physically different and their Created purpose is different..................
Together, the Male and Female make THE HUMAN BEING.
This is the SAME Reality and History as presented by THE CREATOR, in the Creation of Adaam and Howah(eve). without the two there would be none of us.........

So, I did not see the Artist portrayal of NGEO, but my comments give my impression of most of the past portrayal of AlIslaam by the DEVIANT, Demonic Artists of paganChristian History.

1. The Book of the Muslim is Alqur'aan, not the weak, oldEnglish transliteration "koran"----
2. the documentary is told from a christian point of view-with some religious writers that may be Muslim-and the translations used are inaccurate, as AlQur'aan is a Compliation of words of The Creator delivered to Mohamed(as) at historically timed and community related times over a span of 24+ years; that must be understood also through the Hadeeth of RasulAllaah, Mohamed(as)

Sūrat Al-Ahzāb(The Allied)
35. Truly, the Believers who submit to Allāah in AlIslāam; men and women, the believers men and women (who believe in Monotheism), the men and the women who are obedient (to Allāah), the men and women who are truthful (in their speech and deeds), the men and the women who are patient (in performing all the duties which Allāah has ordered and in abstaining from all that Allāah has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before their Lord - Allāah), the men and the women who give Sadaqāt (Zakāt, alms), the men and the women who observe Saum (SharRamadān, and the Nawāfil fasting), the men and the women who guard their chastity (from illegal s*xual acts and disrespect) and the men and the women who remember Allāah much with their hearts and tongues, Allāah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.
59. O Mohamed! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their clothes and veils all over their bodies. That will be better, that they will be known as free respectable women and so that they will not be annoyed or disrespected. And Allāah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sūrat Al-Hajj(The Pilgrimage)
5. O mankind! If you are in doubt about living and dying and return, then truly We have created Adaam from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female s*xual discharge your offspring of Adaam), then from a piece of thick coagulated blood and then from a little lump of flesh - some formed and some unformed (as in the case of miscarriage) - that We may make clear to you, to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will.
Narrated Abdullāh رضي الله عنه: Allāahs Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم, the true and truly inspired said: "As regards your creation, every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for another forty days. Then Allāah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in the Hereafter). Then the soul is breathed into his body. (Sahih Al Bukhari, Vol.4, Hadith No.549).
Sūrat Āl-Imrān{(The Family of Imran)-Zakarriyya, Maryam, IsaIbnMaryam}
33. Allāah chose Adaam, Nūh (Noah), the family of Ibrāheem (Abraham) and the family of Imrān above the Ālamīn (mankind and jinn).
34. Offspring, one of the other, and Allāah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
35. Remember when the wife of Imrān said: "O my Lord! I have vowed to You what the child that is in my womb to be dedicated for Your services (free from all worldly work; to serve Your Place of worship), so accept this from me. Truly, You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knowing."
36. Then when she gave birth to her child Maryam (Mary)], she said: "O my Lord! I have given birth to a female child," - and Allāah knew better what she brought forth, - "And the male is not like the female, and I have named her Maryam[2] (Mary), and I seek refuge with Allāah for her and for her offspring from Shaitān (Satan), the outcast."
Maryam (مريم) literally means: female servant of Allāah. And of course there is an entire chapter of Maryam(Sūrat Maryam) in AlQur'aan for your reading.
Sūrat An-Nisā(The Women)
1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person - Adaam, and from Adaam - He created his wife [Hawwā], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allāah through Whom you demand your mutual rights, protect the relations of the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allāah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.
Sūrat Az-Zumar(The Groups)
6. He created you (all) from a single person (Adaam); then made from him his wife [Hawwā (Eve)]. And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep, two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers: creation after creation in three veils of darkness. Such is Allāah your Lord. His is the kingdom. Lā ilāha illā Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away?
Sūrat At-Tahrīm(The Prohibition)
12. And Maryam, the daughter of Imrān who guarded her chastity. And We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Rūh [Jibrīl], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [believed in the Words of Allāah: "Be!" - and he was; that is Īsā ibn Maryam as a Messenger of Allāah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qānitūn (obedient to Allāah)
I guess I could go on and on but AlQur'aan is avaliable on Line, in Bookstores with many translations and there are many Dictionaries and Commentary of 1431 years from many men and women.
I pray this helps a little, of course I guess I have written before on BIA, but I have not even scratched the Beauty of the Human Family with the Female being the center, the most necessary, and the most Protected descendant of Adaam.

I'm not surprised by much of what white people do or say on Tv and the internet
but I keep hearing people express fear of Muslims and Islam. In a recent conversation one person told another "Their god tells them to kill people." The propaganda has no bounds.
I had to get defensive a couple of years ago when one of my college professors in New Orleans (she was Hispanic by the way) kept telling the students, which included my brother, that Sunni Muslims kill people who don't accept their religious sect. If my brother had any doubts about what she said, he kept it to himself. But I had to remind them that not only have white Christians killed more people in more places than any religion on the planet since the fourth century.
Many White Christians support the wars and other activities of this government that have resulted in the deaths of millions and that have helped cause the problems between the Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the Middle East.
I cannnot speak on how the Sunni and Shia worlds view the NOI, all I can say is that based on my dealings with them they treat us with the utmost respect. Malcolm X can attest to that when he made his pilgrimage to Mecca prior to his assassination.
As far as the war between the Sunni and Shiites its no different from the war between the L.A. Bloods and Crips gangs, they are fighting for no other reason than for whose supremacy will prevail.

Since the Late 1960s I have know many Shia, they came with the Shahs Modernization-----from Iran and most were Applied Science, Math, Doctors etc.
Now, I DO NOT agree with some Shia cultural difference;
I must say that great Shia Authors adorn my Library, Dr. Ali Shariati-- and Dr. Racheed AlMoussaui are GREAT.

The shia and sunnah have no patent on Islam. It is a universal religion and the very nature of the original man of the planet earth commonly known as the black man. It is hard to find a part of the world that has not been impacted by Islam.
The beauty of Islam is the degree it protects the women. They are teachers, mothers and helpers. Islam has been taken to an extreme in many countries. Like a veil and walking 10 paces behind a man. A religion that claims all the prophets is bound to have followers in time that dispute which prophet is more important to Allah. Not all muslims are Sunnah. Some Muslims are Nation of Islam followers and World Community of Islam. Then there is MANA(Muslim Alliance of North America). A muslim takes an oath that his life and death is all for Allah. Muslims are united by the Holy Quran and the principles of Islam. All Muslims eat the same type of food and avoid the same type of food. Muslim women are being treated more equitably now with the global connection bringing foreign society within reach.
No one can deny a person to Islam. There should be no force. As long as the person is ready to submit his will entirely to the Will of Allah. That is sufficient.

koran, Quran are english transliterations for the Arabic translations in nonArabic alphabetic languages.
I, prefer, AlQur'aan, as it is closer in English to the Arabic Meaning.
For a person to submit themselves to AlIslaam, one must understand AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as)
Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Michigan State University is Really Beautiful--kindergarten math is ok, but even a little mathematician would agree that kindergarteners have only scratched the air of Mathematics.
Anyone that wants AlIslaam and enjoy the Beauty of AlQur'aan has to attempt to grow with Scholarship and Searching. If one who has had AlQur'aan on their shelf for 20-30-40 years and has not searched and read, in my opinion, is behind my 8 year old 2nd grader in Understanding of the role of the Muslim Believer......
Muslim Alliance of North America is a wonderful Islaamic Organization of Masajid throughout America that follows AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as)
World Community of Islam was an organization that louis farrakhan and other old noi followers joined in 1975---it became American Muslim Mission
jews and christians use the same set of books and reject each other---
The followers of AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as) follow the books of the jews and the christians(the original text-not paganAlteration)---they also follow all the prophets described in the original texts and have Evolved the Monotheistic Thought of The Creators first Man and Woman, Adaam and Howah(eve)---

Irma, the name Koran or Holy Quran are the same just differances in spelling and background of the person. Iran is one of the most powerful of Muslim nations and the most threatening than any other because like America it puts education of the sciences on top and have a civilization that is reflected.
Muslims from Asia and Africa are flocking to American colleges and universities after learning how "backwards" their science and technology curriculums in their native lands were when compared to American Schools. Key to why the American war machine whopped the pants off of Iraq and their Arab coalition army. With all the historic science and mathematics of Bagdad and the rest of the Arab world, they were not able to give the Americans a good fight. The Muslim fighter ran like hyennas running from jackals.
The migration of Asian Muslims to Americaa have translated into an exchange of cultures. As an outcome, for equality is being given to women in Islam including when it comes to education. All women are entitled to a good education.

The problem with you Robert, is that you base every single aspect of religion on Al-Islam, and you denounce every NOI follower here who does not believe in your beliefs. Which shapes you into a worse off person. What have you learned about NOI, Sunni and ****te sects that makes you a better person? Obviously nothing if your still ignorant to not see that NOI, Sunni and ****te all refer to god as Allah (even though the NOI believes that God created man and the man he created was Black). Our Islamic DNA is the same, excluding the religious sects that we embrace.

Last word given to Mohamed(as) in AlQur'aan---

the Words of Allaah-AlQur'aan have not been altered from the Original since that day 1430 years ago and these last words have been studied by Scholars for 1430+ years and I have Accepted what they mean and try each day for more knowledge of this Scholarship----

It is the Belief in the oneness of God who proper name is Allah
It is the Fasting or Ramadan
It is the time for prayer ( 5 times)
It is the making of Haaj (pilgrammage to Mecca)
It is the prophets from Noah to Muhammad
Anything else....the sects of Islam will debate like the sects of Christianity will debate and the final judge according to the Quran is Allah HIMSELF. American muslims can't come up with bull**** to disclude the muslims in Brazil. That is foolish, no matter what hogwash is provided. Thank you bojt ofr you answers, you have offered me a lot to look at...both you Jamal and robert have offered me a look at how different and exact the Muslim religion/ faith is just like any other religious practices or society is in it canges and branches off from one another in order to best serve those who practice them...
Personally this is what I call SURVIVAL which to me is natural. (smile)
Tis maybe should be made into a totally seprate blog on how I see you Jamal saying a lot about the NOI, but you have been told by God (you said) to protect and bring happiness and security to Black Americans in a manner that at least from where I sit has nothing to do with the out look of the NOI at all...you always only mention your self Jamal as the O-N-E and only one to be able to bring this about...

Is there any reason that "Koran" and "Quaran" is used or is it just the difference in the spellings or a difference in pratices, example,
A Baptist and a Metodist using the same version of the Bible, but they practice totally different rutuals in church?
Please lets not get distracted by the better then /right/ wrong just seeking a better understanding about a religion that is in a country of religious freedoms and hopefully respect( information)....

I am so glad that I do not get my education off of the tv...I do like many different resources...it is just very hard to learn any thing for the Muslims on this site because it is more of a mine is better then yours than being able to actually learn any thing from any of you. So I am still at a loss, but I can fully understand how not to take any thing as being true /accurate from the tv even though the National Geographic is some what to be trusted.
but, this also I gather that being able to trust past trying to get ratings is over ruled in the name of the almight $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$(smile0
And, again thank you so much robert...I wish you could do some informative information as related to the Koran...but, I am sure that this will be turned into another information disaster...this is a shame. "I" do love learning about different religions and their history expecially.(Iam not smiling)

Thank you robert, but I was specifically speaking of the program as it related its name, "Inside The Koran" and only the Koran. (smile)
I like to get information from all sources that I can and even better if I can get it straight from the horse's mouth as the expression goes therefore I came not to the Christians who so not use the Koran, but to those who do use the Koran.

I do not argue which is /is not the right religion for that person...
I am only trying to get a better understanding of something I saw about or related to the Koran on NGEO tonight. I have never experienced this form of speaking about the Koran before...as I did watching this program.
