SOMETHING I JUST SAW A SCIENTIFIC STUDY TO HAVE SAMLL CHILDREN PICK OUT A DUM B PERSON AND A SMART PERSON LOOKED LIKE ...THIS TEST WAS TO HAVE THESE CHILDREN CHOOSE FROM THE FIGURES THAT HAD PICTURES OF DOLL THAT RANGED IN SKIN COLOR FROM VERY WHITE SKIN COLOR TO VERY DARK SKIN COLORS...WHICH PICTURE DO YOU BELIEVE THE WHITE CHILD CHOOSE?!?...THE BLACK CHILD CHOOSE?!?...

Even as a child our subconscious takes in information that we aren't aware of all the time. I myself enjoyed reading books, while my own children had to be forced to pick up a book and read(what's that about). It's like something in their mind was telling them to ignore or rebel against reading books.

Helen.... that's cool.... so you are a book worm.... When you least expect it your kids will appreciate reading.... I can get so carried away in a good book!!!
As we age.... our long term memory will start to resurface..... our short term memory will diminish.... GOD designed the brain to release the right information at the right time.... If you ever witnessed an elderly person... how they can ramble off some information about their childhood??? I found out more about my grandfather when he was dying from cancer.... I would constantly sit by his bed... just to listen to him ramble on about child hood stories.... and let's say.... I am so thankful I had that time to spend with him...

It's sad when you find out that some people have a deep seated fear against reading. I found this out when I gave my mother a quran thirty years ago. She set the book on her fireplace and never even opened it. The book disappeared and I asked her where it was, it turned out a relative told her to throw it away. I never tried to force her to read it, I only thought that it could change the course of her fears which caused her mental Illness. She died last year claiming to be the female Jesus.

I think the video was ridiculous. That is similar to putting Enimem against Biggie Smalls (Cynthia don't laugh LOL). Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if some ignorant adult taught (or should I say programmed) those kids to say that. Things like this make it seem like MLK speech ain't worth a damn to some people because we are still living with this issue of race and color. We got a black president in the white house. and it amazes me that they are still some people in this world that still feel that black ain't nothing and that light skin is better than dark skin. Black is something just like white and other races is something. And dark skin is just as beautiful as light skin.

Helen, I will always be so grateful of how my mom tricked me into loving to read magazines like National Geo and Look and Life voer comic books at such an early age...
because now reading is a hobby of mines,(and I am proud to say my children and grandchildren) I am never ever bored...I have even sat at a bus stop and read teh phone book many times and enjoyed doing this as my bus was late....not to mention reading school book reports, text books, ect. (smile)

Mozell, please explain about the "WE ARE HERE", because this is my problem with the 'we are here'. example,
for me, my being here on this site is having me believe more and more that we are those negative things being said that we are, we actually are...a better example is today I saw Jesse jackson duh? where was he on the single black mother is waht is causeing the bad things in this country????????
To how now the governor of Lousiana is doing what...demanding that our president come into his state and bring to them all of that monies and power that his political party are trying to save this contry from his being able to do things like this?!?

1. What do we actually know about Dr. M.L. King in the first place?!?
2. Why are we now condeming Rand Paul when it is our own Black community that has allowed in theory everything this man is talking about to be a reality right at this moment.example,
why can't our president still attend the church of his choice that he attendeD for 25 years until AFTER Rev. J. Wright retired?!?!?!?
