THIS BLOG IS FOR POSTING TO ME SOME ADVICE, GUIDANCE ON THINGS I SHOULD HAVE WITH ME AS I FACE (291 hits)

THE BOARD OF A MAJOR GAS COMPANY 9 AM ON MONDAY...THE THEME OF MY PROBLEM IS , "WHY AEMIRGAS SHOULD MY FAMILY HAVE TO SUFFER FROM YOUR SCREW-UP / COVER-UPS???...All of this came up just today and only their emergancy service was available today!!! HERE GOES...

I use heating our home by wood. So as it is cool in the early mornings and if a fire in the wood stove is used it will be good his time of year. A wood fire would be heaating too much when it starts to warm up out side.So the gas stove for cooking is lit to take the chill off...But, this morning it was no gas but the faint smell of gas...everything at the local AmeriGas office was closed until Monday so they would be out to check the gas smell to see if there was a leak or just from no gas as we have natural gas...(yes we were out of gas, because we are on a computer of theirs to tell them when we need gas this has never happened before)

The person who put in the gas noticed that there was a wrong gas line attached to the main tank and we would be sent a notice that it must be fixed or they would not be able to bring any more gas...Well here is the little catch after calling in this little matter of it was them who had done this work not two years ago...and, in learning about this their answer was a that is why we fired the manager of the local branch....D-U-H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So having turned down any and all of the department's people in charge to get me to settle for their talking points...they made an appointment for us to come and talk to their company's board on Monday.

So could you give me some ideas of what I will be running into and how to best handle it gracefully and objectively...have any of you ever run into something that if you don't go along with being wronged you are subjected to be fined, or being classed as unsafe for your home, neighborhood, because this is what this gas line that they put in, and why they fired a manager for allowing this to happen and not even give us a warning about this before today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....on top of this we get gas on a regular basis it is only today they sent out a specialist...because as we had to turn the whole gas tank off at the tank someone had to come and do something to it because it had been turned completely off...

Please help and I am use to dealing with this kinds of civil rights and legal rights violations only after years of documentations of them and their practices, behaviors and I have never been the direct plaintiff, before. (smile) Oh, and because I spend more time with my BIA friends and family than my own real life friends. (smile)

Well, first, Irma, I am glad for you that you will finally be given an opportunity to correct the mistake.

I don't know how valuable my adivce would be--since we have different philsophies about dealing with these sorts of things.

I come from a background as a teacher where I try to be a conciliator, problem solver, always looking to de-escalate conflicts and find common ground.

You, Irma, are a fighter, a hell-raiser and you speak your mind no matter what. And God Bless you for it!

I think, to everything there is a season. So your approach works best for some situations--and my approach works best for some situations.

Now--for this situation--I think you should keep your priorities straight. What is your goal for the meeting? What is your most desired outcome?

First, ask yourself those questions, then act accordingly. Keep your goal in mind.

If your mumber one goal is to get the problem fixed as quckly as possible, then it is real simple. First state the problem, then demand that they come and fix it. And don't leave until they commit to giving you a date.

If you want to give them a piece of your mind and make them quake in their boots, then you will certainly succeed in doing that. But will it get your gas fixed? I don't know.

Whatever happens, good luck. I hope your gas problem gets taken care of.

Irma I think you have good facts to state already. I will say stand firm as I know you will. You are very stern in making issues known from beginning to end, and you have the gumption to present it without cover-ups. I don't feel any fear around you, so don't comtemplate to have it and you I know have [Chanted/ prayed] without ceasing. Feeling strongly I feel too my insight of unity is with you when you go. My prayers are too.

Rrich, thank you so much,and this is why I need out side advice. I am tHe last person who wants to ask my self for advice when I have no idea what it is past the princaple of a matter...and, it is not so much the correcting this problem...but why this problem in tHE first place going on so long, ect. If their own people who have been bring ING us gas for years did not see, BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE THIS POTENTIAL LIFE THREATING EQUIPEMENT FROM , AND BY THEIR OWN COMPANY ,then why not???...

If they fired a manager for This problem then why not at least check all work done like this under his command????...and, that is why I can not give my own self advice that I can trust because I am not so much bothered by the price or the fixing OF OUR GAS TANK'S CONNECTION ...when mine gets fixed how safe / unsafe am I making it for the next person in my fix who like me did not know until a few Hours ago?!?

My brother, Cow, I am so glad that you know me so well until you can predict what is in my mind and I know this comes from your knowing me as I really aM by my life style...plus you know I have a one track mind, which is the beauty of this and another reason I wil lnot take my personal advice as conclusive or wise in a matter like this...I KNOW I HAVE A ONE TRACK MIND ON THE TRUTH AND FAIRNESS AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, BUT I MUST MAKE MY PRIORTIES COME FIRST...GET THE WORK DONE, MAKE THIS FULLY UNDERSTOOD ON MONDAY..

NOW COMES THE LONG TERM, IF I AGREE TO GET IT DONE AT THEIR PRICE AND PAY FOR IT...THEN....................................................................

THIS COULD BRING UP A LOT OF PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE ON AS I SAID HOW MANY OTHERS WILL I BE PUTTING / LEAVING IN HARM'S WAY IN TEH FUTURE???? (SMILE)...WHICH LEADS ME RIGHT BACK TO WHICH IS MY MOST IMPORTANT PRIORTY???????????????????????????????????? (SMILE)

mY DESIRED OUT COME IS TO KNOW WHY WHEN THEY FIRED SOMEONE FOR THINGS LIKE TIS DID THEY NOT CORRECT IT AT THEIR EXPENCE...YOU SEE I AM THE ONE WHO PAID THEM TO PUT THIS THREAT TO OUR LIVES IN IN THE FIRST PLACE SO NOW THEY EXPECT TO BE PAID TO UNDO WHAT THEY DID?!

iT WAS THEM WHO TOLD ME THAT THEY FIRED THE MANAGER FOR THIS KIND OF WORK, DUH...IF HE DID WRONG THEN DID YOUR FIRING HIM CORRECT HIS MATTER...HELL THESE PEOPLE FOUND OUT ENOUGH TO FIRE HIM SO HOW DID THEY NOT KNNOW ABOUT THIS IN TEH FIRST PLACE...IF THEY KNEW THIS WAS LIFE THREATENING THEN WHY DID THEY NOT CORRECT IT 2 YEARS AGO...?!?

i GUESS WHAT i WANT IS AN ADMITION THAT THEY CAUSED THIS PROBLEM THAT EVEN THEIR ONW PEOPLE WERE UNABLE TO WARN US IN ALL OF THISTIME...ISN'T IT IN PART OF THEIR LISCENS BY THIS STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT NOT TO BE A DIRECT DANGER TO THEIR COUSTMERS OR WHAT??? AND HOW MUC OF A CHANCE DO YOU BELIEVE THEY WILL GIVE ME THIS AS A PRIORITY AS PROECTING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY FROM HARM TAHT BUT INSTEAD OF THIS WE ENEDE UP PAYING THEM TO BRING TO OUR HOME?!?

Helen this is my problem, if no one tell's them then how are they suppose to know about it?!? HOw can I even ask them about it if they have no idea exactly what to look for??? all I have is the information from the gas person, and since you mentioned it maybe there needs to be a second opinion on this matter? I have no reason to trust them...I maybe would need someone like a housing inspector to look at this...
