GRANT ?!? WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO COMPLAIN AND POINT FINGERS A THE 'MAN' FOR CAUSING MANY OF THE PROBLEMS IN OUR RACE, LOCAL COMMUNITYS WHEN IT IS US WHO ARE LEADING THE CHARGE THAT ENABLES SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS RATHER THAN RAISE A HAND TO ATTEMPT TO BE JUST A SAMLL PART OF THE SOLUTION ?!? I HAVE CHOSEN TO USE THE DEATH OF OSCAR GRANT AT THE HANDS OF A POLICEMAN WHO SHOT HIM IN THE BACK WHILE HE WAS ON THE GROUND FACE DOWN AS THE RESULT OF TWO POLICEMEN PUTTING HIM IN THIS POSITION!!!!!???!!! I ASK ALSO BECAUSE "I" HAVE BEGUN TO BELIEVE WE WOULD RATHER PROMOTE HOW DISSTRUCTIVE, HOW DIVIDED WE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY CAN BE RATHER THAN HOW CONSTRUCTIVE , OW UNIFIDED WE IN THE COMMUNITY CAN BE.

I agree that young men must learn to behave responsibly. But police all too often are cowards who target those they think are weak, and all too often they are correct that the young men are not able to deal with them. My son is targeted because of the car he drives, and, because he is young. And although he has learned all I have taught him on how to deal with the police, it is not the same as if I were with him when these situations came up. Irma, I also can get my NUP!

Robert, It appears that your wife is brainwashed.
You and those who think like you try to make it look as if it is such a 'sin' for a person like me to remain single and childless. If you read and STUDY the Quran like you say you do, you would know there is no verse in the Qu'ran where it is a 'sin' to be single. It is a sin, however, to have children without the benefit of marriage.
Just because you Robert got married at a young age does not give you the so-called freedom to tell me that I should hurry up and get married. There is a verse in the opening of the second chapter, the Cow, that reads as such: says, "I, ALLAH am the best knower." Also, it is not your duty to make decisons for me in terms of marriage.

For you information, I was engaged to a brother when I was 19 who cheated on me a few months prior to the marriage. So, yes, I did consider marriage at one point. Maybe if the guy I had intentions of marrying wasn't so busy trying to live his life like you Robert (trying to romance many women at once without thinking about the consequences of STD's) perhaps there will no need for me to go back to being single!

Thanks for asking Steve...the best place I believe your son can go (phone or the net) is to get in contact with Berkeley's, Sanfran state college's African-American study departments for information about any minority clubs they have on campus...Berkely's law school should have as they do at UCA a whole student attorney Civil rights organization...but the last place to go is to the NAACP as they are now only talking heads waiting for the next cable news frenzy...Color of Chang should be able to direct him wher eto go in Oakland also...the colleges should be able to direct him to some of the activist youth organization off campus he can get info first hand on where to go to find the best place to go find out which groups are working on the things he is most interest in...
the federal government in taking on this O.G. case is going to need as many of those like your son they can get...you don't have to worryso much about your son, right now the last person any police in Okland and any place near this city up to even Sacramento is going to stay as far away from him as they can...they are in enough hot water right now until anyone they have abused in the past is already off their plates .loooooooooooooooooool...

Yes robert I fully understand how and why you are in such agreement with what "I' have already stated and if you missed it or did your famous reading and taking out of what a blog is all about so that your opinion fits in, I will repeat how it is such a ****$$$$$$$$#* shame that when a White policeman kills a Black male we already know before the trial even begins that this policeman is going to get a nonguilty or the lightest time in prison...and, in this O.G. case the may even get probation...or just TIME SERVED...that is until these youths made a plan and carried it out successfully to froce our FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND DO THE SAME INVESTIGATION THAT THE MEMBERS OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY TOOK ON THE POSITION OF BEING THE LEADER THEY NEEDED...RIGHT N-O-W...LIKE Y-E-S-T-E-R D-A-Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lov this happened a long, long time ago, but too many in this country are still in denial...and, we will reaamin in denial as long as we can continue to find excuses to blame the Creator and mother nature for our bad behaviors!!!
We must first come to realize that we the individual is America and every problem is our problem to correct?
